"By the Brook" is the English translation of the German word "Biedebach". 'He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water...' Psalm 1:3

Piled high
Nanny's pancakes are the best! We love to eat them with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Sometimes we add cream and sliced banana. In our house pancakes can mean either, the American ones that look like huge flapjacks or crumpets that we eat with maple syrup. They can also be pancakes as in crepes that you can find at most flea markets in Southern Africa or often at Nanny's house in Johannesburg:)

Construction again
This time with plastic bags and cut down banana tree leaves. The fort in the fron of the house has been removed because we have been trying to grow the grass. The jungle gym has found a spot in the backyard. The kids spent hours decorating and playing in it.
Even the rains didn't deter them from their house building. In fact, those banana leaves are pretty waterproof, they found out.

Gala
Today was the boys' swim gala at school. Ben, although he is still afraid of going in the big pool, did manage to do what his teacher asked him. It was great that nanny could see them, especially since Brian is still away.

Nan is here
While Brian is away at the Shepherds' Conference in LA, my mom is here with us until March 26th! Yippee! She is doing well health-wise. She continues her alternative treatment for her cancer. Her energy levels are amazing and she is enjoying being with the kids.

Out of town
Brian is in the air right now on his way to LA for the Shepherds' Conference. It'll be a very quick trip for him, but he is looking forward to meeting together with fellow like-minded pastors from around the globe.

Friday Night
Dad and the kids decided to play a game of Risk tonight. The conversation from the table is something like this. "Do you want to attack, do you want to fight?"
"Okay, I am gonna attack from here to there. I beat you!"
Not exactly the kind of words I like to hear them saying ;0) They're having a ball nonetheless.
