Fast Food

So thankful they don't like it! They did like the toys, but left most of the food behind. A first and probably a last at Burger King.

Out and About

I have been attempting to homeschool the children.  It has been a challenge, but it does allow us an open schedule to do things like going to the park or to Magic Mountain when not many others are there. Next month we'll be doing some travelling and so having the kids out of school makes that much easier.

Busy Sundays

Our schedule has been very busy.  Every Sunday we are at a different church. Today we were at Seal Beach Community Church, which is the church Brian grew up in.  Our dear friend Chris took us for a special lunch treat to a Ruby's Diner. A guy there was making balloon animals and figures for the kids in the restaurant. He was very good at it and our kids were amazed.

Chris's husband George is in hospital for a recurring infection. He is a Vietnam Vet and so we got to go and visit him at the VA hospital in Long Beach.

Then because it's Sunday we went for a special treat.
And we were able to visit Grandpa Mark and Irina!

Uncle David

This is uncle David, Brian's longtime friend and bestman at our wedding.  He and his sister met us at the LAX airport when we first arrived in December since they were together for Christmas.  He is working as a missionary in Argentina, but happened to have a couple days spare after a conference earlier this month and so he was able to come and visit us.  It was so good to see him and catch up. He visited us several times in South Africa. At one point in time he was considering mission work in the Cape Flats. He is so good with our kids and they enjoyed him very much.

Brian and Dave were housemates for several years and Brian learned of Dave's comfortable flamingo stance.  He often would stand and talk to people with one leg balanced easily on the other. Brian asked if he would show the kids how he does it and he did.

Biedebach boys now practicing uncle David's comfortable flamingo stance.
