Madam Fluff's 8th Birthday

Happy birthday big eight year old! Traditional singing and candle blowing.

Opening gifts in bed.

Ami decided she wanted a tea party for her birthday. Here are some fancy ladies putting on a royal tea pose.

Ami's teacher, the eight girls from her class, Alli Mae and brothers were invited.

Blowing out all 8 birthday candles.
Enjoying tea, cucumber sandwiches, watermelon slices, chicken rolls, chocolate cookie bars, strawberries covered in chocolate and birthday cake.

Teapot birthday cake.

The 'bubbling baptismal' doubling up as fun for Ami's tea party. Needless to say the pump has broken again and we haven't used it since then:(

Gingerbread Men

Aunty Rachel Floreen made these yummy gingerbread men for the kids to decorate one afternoon after lunch.
See how good they were. Karen- Kondi and Patricia's 2 year old couldn't get enough.

Meticulous care taken when decorating.

Bradley and Warren getting quite good too.

Hot tub

Someone donated this very non-working hot tub to our church to use as a baptismal. Brian is baptising Charles. What a great praise to hear the testimony of this man. He came to know Christ while in prison. He served there for eight years in what must be some of the worst living conditions. Two hundred guys and one loo to share!
Some folk from church who stayed after the service to witness the baptism.

This is the porch that two missions' teams helped to construct. It is so helpful to have the area covered, especially now as the temperatures begin to soar.

Veggies

We are delighted that we have been able to eat vegetables from our garden. Ben has a big sweet carrot.
Lettuce for our salads.

These tomatoes are ripening in our kitchen window. We've-(not all of us) also enjoyed beetroot and gem squash:)

Handyman

I have wanted two book shelves for the boys' room for a while. I have checked out the odd expat sale hoping to pick up something worthwhile. Bied said, after I had missed a book shelf at a friend's sale, that he would make me book shelves. I expected to wait really long for them, because he is so busy...but the handyman stood by his words and provided two perfectly functioning bookshelves for which I am very thankful!

Benjamin helped his daddy with the varnishing.

Bradley getting to help out too.

The end result. I suppose I should have straightened the books for the picture:)
